Lifepedia : The beginning ;

Shafique was born in Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan to a Punjabi Gujjar family. His father, Shafiq Ahmed, has been a resident in Dubai since 1991. He played professional cricket before becoming a cricket coach.Arshad Ali, his uncle, was an international cricketer for the United Arab Emirates.

Outside of cricket, he enjoys music and is a singer and guitarist, with his versions of various songs becoming viral.


His Domestic cricket Career 

Shafique was drafted by Multan Sultans in the 2018 Pakistan Super League players draft in November 2017, but did not compete in the league.

He made his first-class debut for Central Punjab in the 2019-20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in December 2019, hitting 133 runs.


He made his Twenty20 debut for Central Punjab in the 2020-21 National T20 Cup in September 2020, scoring 102 not out.

As a result, he became the first Pakistani batsman to achieve a century on debut in both first-class and T20 cricket.

Shafique was chosen to Lahore Qalandar's team for the 2022 Pakistan Super League season (PSL) in December 2021.


International Career of AB Shafique

Following his achievements in the National T20 Cup, he was nominated to a 22-man team of "probables" for Pakistan's home series against Zimbabwe in October 2020.


He was picked to Pakistan's 15-man team for the third One Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe in November 2020, however he did not participate.On November 10, 2020, he made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Pakistan against Zimbabwe.He was picked to Pakistan's 35-man squad for their tour of New Zealand the following month.

He was picked to Pakistan's Test squad for the series against South Africa in January 2021.

He was picked to Pakistan's One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against South Africa in March 2021,[22] as well as their Test team for their series against Zimbabwe.

Shafique was picked to Pakistan's ODI team again in June 2021, this time for the series against England.In addition, he was picked to Pakistan's Test team for the series against the West Indies.


He was picked to Pakistan's ODI team for their series against New Zealand in September 2021.[26] He was picked to the Pakistan Shaheens team for their tour of Sri Lanka the following month.

He was picked to Pakistan's Test squad for the series against Bangladesh in November 2021. On November 26, 2021, he made his Test debut for Pakistan against Bangladesh.

Shafique was picked to Pakistan's Test squad for the series against Australia in February 2022. In the fourth innings of the first match, Abdullah Shafique earned his first century. He had 397 runs scored against him in three test matches .

 Shafique was picked to Pakistan's One Day International (ODI) team for their series against Australia in March 2022.

He was picked to Pakistan's ODI team for the series against the West Indies in May 2022.

He was picked to Pakistan's team for the visit of Sri Lanka in July 2022. He struck a record 160* in the fourth innings of the first Test to win the contest in Galle.

He was picked to Pakistan's ODI team for their tour of the Netherlands in August 2022.He made his ODI debut for Pakistan against the Netherlands on August 21, 2022.

He scored his third Test century against England in Rawalpindi in December 2022.

In the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium, he made one of the most incredible catches for Pakistan.

Abdullah Shafique's maiden double century came on the third day of the second Test against Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on Wednesday.
