The series will provide both sides with an opportunity to prepare for the Asia Cup.

Afghanistan will host Pakistan in a three-match One-Day International series in Sri Lanka, which will begin on August 22 in Hambantota.

Pakistan and Afghanistan have previously played four One-Day Internationals (ODIs), with the former winning all four. The two teams last met in the format at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019.


Series Flow 

The Pakistan team will arrive in Hambantota on August 18, with players departing on August 17. The players in Pakistan also attended a three-day session at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on August 14, 15, and 16.

The Afghanistan team arrived in Sri Lanka on August 10 to finalize their preparations for the Pakistan series.

Even if Pakistan loses one match in the series, they will tumble to third position in the standings, trailing Australia. 

From August 22 to 26, Afghanistan will host Pakistan in Sri Lanka. They will play the first two matches at Hambantota on August 22 and 24, before traveling to Colombo for the final ODI on August 26.

The Pakistan team will arrive in Sri Lanka on August 17 and practise there on August 19, 20, and 21.

Pakistan has won all four One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against Afghanistan. The two teams last met in the format at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019.
